Spring Fever

Well, this weekend has given me spring fever!!  I don’t know if it was the 70 degree weather or the fact that I have been cooped up all week from my surgery and being able to get up and walk around outside made me feel like a bird out of a cage.

I had surgery on Tuesday and all went well, it is so nice to not be sick after you eat every night.  It almost makes the recovery worth it!!  HA…  It hasn’t been that bad, I just hate being confined to the house.  It probably wouldn’t be so bad, but the memories are there to haunt me at every turn, and this was the first time that Coady hasn’t been there to take care of me.  He may have been a stinker, but when Mom was sick, he would be there to help me out and take care of me.  I think just feeling bad and being confined to a house full of memories has made it worse than what it really is.  I don’t know if I will ever feel comfortable in this house again.  Too many memories.

On Saturday I did get out and walk around the lawn and put bird seed out.  I was able to clean out one of the flower beds and look at some of the daffodils getting ready to open up to the sun.  I noticed one group blooming under one of the pine trees on the east side of the house.  Joe trimmed back the roses and we transplanted 2 of them to what I hope will be a better location.  He then got started on one of the flower beds around the cherry tree and wound up cleaning it out.  With one project done, there always seemed to be another one that you could start, but my get up and go got up and went and I had to call it a day and go lay down to rest.  My mind would hardly let me lay there and relax knowing that there were so many projects left undone.  And so begins the March madness!!!!
